Product Description

Koyorad is proud to introduce a cooling solution for 2003-2007 Mitsubishi Evolution race vehicles with upgraded front facing turbo systems. For off-road use only, this half length radiator is intended for sprints, small track, and gymkhana type courses. It features an all new, ultra high density 48mm “Hyper” performance core. The reduced length allows for an off-center mounting position, which keeps radiant manifold heat away from its core. Like every Koyorad All Aluminum Performance Radiator, the OEM electric fan will bolt up directly without modifications. Unique sliding fan mounts allow for an easier installation of aftermarket universal slim fans, freeing up additional engine bay room and reducing weight. Koyorad integrates a 1/8” NPT female accessory fitting (supplied with a threaded plug) to accept temperature sensors typically supplied with most aftermarket temperature gauges. This radiator will fit global market Evolutions: IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX.

WARNING 

This radiator is intended for drag, small track, and short duration race vehicles only! NOT intended for endurance, street or daily use. Radiator size and coolant capacity has been decreased, therefore driving and idling at extended lengths may cause excessive heat which may lead to severe engine damage. If coolant temperatures rise above factory recommended operating temperatures, safely remove vehicle from potential harm to yourself and others, immediately shut off and cool down the engine. In order to properly monitor coolant temperatures, we recommend the use of the integrated 1/8” NPT female accessory fitting (supplied with a threaded plug) located near the top inlet tube. Most aftermarket temperature gauges are supplied with this 1/8” thread temperature sensor. 

*The top coolant pipe has been relocated for optimized coolant flow. This upper pipe location requires the rubber/silicone radiator hose from Evolution IV/V/VI (not included). Use of the full-length stock air intake system is not possible due to this relocation. 

*Top and bottom radiator brackets originally found on the passenger’s side will need to be relocated near the center of the vehicle to properly secure the left side of the radiator in place. The driver’s side (top and bottom) brackets will remain in their factory locations and will secure the right side of the radiator without modifications. Begin the installation with the driver’s side (furthest right) lower post, then tighten the top right radiator bracket over the top right post. Once that side of the radiator is secure, proceed to relocate the passenger side mounting brackets to their new locations. Be sure all radiator brackets and posts are used. Secure all four corners of the radiator before operating vehicle! 

*Drain plugs are installed and tightened from the factory but may loosen while in freight. Be sure to tighten the supplied drain plug before vehicle operation 

*Follow manufacturer’s procedure for completely bleeding air out of the cooling system and check for any leaks 

*Do not install brass fittings or brass plugs on this radiator under any circumstance 

*Check for stray electrical current/electrolysis immediately upon installation
